The spokesperson of the Part Makers Association stated:
40 thousand billion profit of car dealers in 2019

The spokesperson of the component manufacturers’ association said: 40 thousand billion tomans were awarded to the broker sector of the country during the past year, which indicates the wrong policies of the competition council, which causes the loss of car manufacturers and parts manufacturers and the broker’s profit.
According to the reporter of Mehr , Farhad Behnia stated in a press conference today: In 2019, Iran ranked 18th among automobile manufacturers in terms of production with 1.69 million vehicles, which was the fifth rank among developing countries.
He added: With this process, by 1400, we should have reached the production of 3 million cars per year, but with price suppression, this figure even reached less than 800 thousand units in 2018, and the accumulated loss of car manufacturers was 80 thousand billion tomans, which is It was also transferred to the parts maker.
Behnia said: This is despite the fact that 40 thousand billion Tomans have been awarded to the brokerage sector of the country in the past year, which indicates the wrong policies of the Competition Council, which causes the loss of car manufacturers and parts manufacturers in contrast to the profit of brokers.
He added: Even if the competition council wants to, it cannot reduce the price of raw materials because the power of the competition council does not reach the big companies that produce raw materials.
Stating that Iran ranks first in terms of traffic waste and Tehran ranks fourth in pollution of metropolises, Bahnia said: 3 million worn-out cars travel in the country. Every worn-out car has 6.65 liters of excess fuel, which with the average price of fuel in Iran and the world costs about 53 thousand billion tomans for the fuel of these cars. Also, about 81 thousand billion Tomans cost lives and we have more than 10 thousand billion Tomans in traffic loss. On the other hand, road and parking are necessary for these worn-out cars, which have their own costs.
The spokesperson of the component manufacturers’ association emphasized: With this trend, 8 million used cars will travel in the country in 1404.
According to him, the total of these costs imposed on the country is 220 thousand billion tomans, which reaches 550 thousand billion tomans in 1404. In addition, the cost of diseases and environmental destruction is also very high.
Bahnia reminded: 17 thousand billion Tomans are spent on spare parts every year, 70% of which are imported, and 70% of this is for used cars.
Referring to the car import, he clarified: Our proposal is that the car import should be subject to obtaining 8 to 10 car scrapping certificates. With this process, car imports will replace used cars.
He said: In a case where a person complained about his used car and no representative from any of the institutions appeared in court, the executive regulations of the Clean Air Law were suspended. So far, 220 abortion centers have been closed in the country. If the Clean Air Act is revived, it will certainly have a significant impact. In addition, we should have a tax increase for used cars.
The spokesperson of the manufacturers’ association stated: It is also necessary for the government to define a figure between 80 and 100 thousand billion tomans for car replacement facilities for the owners of used cars so that they have an incentive to change their cars. In this way, it is possible to prevent the loss of 200 thousand billion Tomans per year.
Losses of tens of thousands of billions of tomans for component manufacturers due to government interference
In the continuation of this meeting, Glordi Golestani, the chairman of the board of directors of the component manufacturers’ association, said: “Most jobs and technology have been created in the private sector in the field of auto parts, but unfortunately, this field is not taken seriously from the point of view of some organizations, and there is a government view on this industry.” On the other hand, due to the government’s interference, component manufacturers have lost tens of billions of tomans, while at the end of the chain, only dealers profit.
Golestani continued: Raw materials are sold in the country higher than the world rate, and due to the significant increase in inflation, the car has experienced the lowest price increase.
He emphasized: The government should help the private sector, although this help should be of policy management and should not interfere.
Raw materials have become expensive, how can the car not be expensive?
In the continuation of this meeting, Asghar Khosrowshahi, the vice-chairman of the board of directors of this association, stated: It is thought that the problems of the automobile industry will be solved by importing cars. From 1987 to 1996, 600,000 cars were imported into the country, which was worth 13 billion dollars. Has this import helped the car industry, which we are looking for again? Is there a plan for this area?
He added: America’s withdrawal from the JCPOA caused the import of cars to be banned due to the lack of foreign currency, but there was no legal ban on this matter that now the parliament wants to release the import by legislation.
Khosrowshahi added: With 13 billion dollars, it was mentioned that he created 6 large automobile companies, which made the industry more competitive and increased circulation, but only luxury cars were imported to please a certain segment of the society. Unfortunately, we are not going to create competition through production. The total production of Iran Khodro and Saipa last year was one million vehicles, while these two companies have the capacity to produce two million vehicles per year.
The vice president of the parts makers association said: the association is not interested in increasing the price of cars, but the increase in production is for the benefit of the parts maker, but when aluminum has increased in price several times, steel has become 50% more expensive, polymer and other raw materials have also had significant price increases, how can the price of cars be increased? kept constant. If the price of the car is not going to increase, the raw materials should not be expensive either.
He continued: Big companies that produce raw materials sell these products at global prices, while a law was approved according to which price adjustments should be made in the country from the profit from sales in the foreign market, but this law has not been implemented and even more than World prices are sold to the producer.
Khosrowshahi clarified: The government, banks and large raw material manufacturing companies are not willing to give up their rights, but in the end they tell the car manufacturer that you should not increase the price.
He also said: From 1991 to the beginning of 1400, 85 thousand billion Tomans were the losses of automobile manufacturers.
According to Khosrowshahi, with the increase in the new prices that have been applied, the companies will probably get out of losses.
Most of the car manufacturers’ checks are not passed on time
Shapour Samei, the head of the monetary and banking committee of the auto parts manufacturers association, also said in this meeting that mandatory pricing has reduced the ability of automobile manufacturers to pay to auto parts manufacturers. Toman is related to the past due date.
He added: Currently, 120-day payment from the car manufacturer has become a dream for parts manufacturers. In the current situation, within 3 to 4 months, between 5 and 10 percent of the payment and purchase of debt is given.
Samei said: Considering that banks cannot get more than 18% interest, they freeze between 20 and 25% of the loan they want to give, which will be released a year later. The interest of this money plus 18% is the interest of banks.
He added: If a car manufacturer wants to pay 100 billion tomans to a parts maker, the bank will freeze 25% of the money with this payment method, and with 18% interest, it will pay 57 billion tomans to the parts maker for 100 billion tomans.
The chairman of the monetary and banking committee of the parts makers association reminded: In addition, most of the checks of car manufacturers are not passed on time.
